Unfortunately, the shelter is not equipped to handle or care for wildlife. If you see a wild animal you should never approach it. You do not know how a wild animal will react when it is scared or may have young nearby. Another concern is rabies.
If you or your pet may have been in contact with a potentially rabid animal, call Calvert County Animal Control immediately at (410)-535-1600 or (301)-855-1243 ext. 2526.
If you are having a problem with injured, sick, or nuisance wildlife visit the Wildlife Problems page on the Maryland Department of Natural Resources website or call 877-463-6497.
